Make it to be more than 13K and modify your programs slightly to produce full list of all files found into the cursor. Also check, if there are files in this list which are not *4a*.htm

Finally, did you read Bruce message in this thread? It may be that your system is already configured to not create DOS shortnames.

And even if your tests would not find the problem I'm experiencing it would not help me, since the problem here is real. I do, of course, added extra checks to avoid it.
