Any comments on IPTV technology from people that use it?

In BC one of our Telco's and DSL providers is offering this. Not in my neighbourhood yet, but it looks to be a really good deal. $22 for a basic package, then add on a couple of history/science channels and I would be happy. Also you can download from a movie library.

Just wondering if there are any shortcomings?

I'm reasonably happy with my satellite system (Bell Expressvu) which is $27 per month for a really deluxe package. The downsides are:
- when the weather is really bad and we are stuck inside, the tv signal drops
- our very cheap package is not offered anymore, and each year they tack on a bigger and bigger service charge so eventually our discount will be gone
- the pay per view only allows for about 24 movie selections at any given time. I'm a movie nut.
- though ExpressVU allows the purchase of individual channels, they say with our discount package they can't do this. I smell BS.
