Oh, you've never been there. I don't know if the history of the site will sway your opinion of visiting there. But it's a reliable site for news of future events. And the reviews are pretty reliable also. I also noticed that they are making their DVD picks for the holiday season. I've found out about several DVDs thru them.
On to the history part. The guy who runs the site is Harry Knowles. A true film history buff geek if there ever was one. He has several people helping him out. I know there's at least one guy here in L.A. who writes on there. They built up enough contacts and gained enough notoriety that I remember reading on the site pre XMen II when one of the guys who writes for the site went out for the evening. When he returned there was a package on his doorstep. Someone had left a copy of the XMen script there.
The one incident that really cemented his place in the list of film reviewers was several yrs ago when MGM was going to do a remake of Rollerball, the old James Caan movie.
James McTienery, the director (from Die Hard), invited a bunch of reviewers, including Knowles to New York to review the movie a month before scheduled release. It was an all expenses paid trip. But McTienery made certain to tell the reviewers to make sure to do a no holds barred review.
Knowles ripped the movie a BIG one on his site. It was a bad enough review, MGM pulled it from their release schedule, postponing the release for about 8 months.
>Ouch, the design of that site hurts me more than Slashdot or Ebay.

www.aintitcool.com to your list. Although I haven't visited there in a while. But news about summer blockbusters should start showing up there soon.
