My approach has always been to have separate PREVIEW and PRINT buttons on the form. Whichever you press will call a method to do the SQL to get the print cursor, then set a flag to say it's been done. Of course, this first checks for the flag to see if it's done. So you can press the preview button, inspect the report, dismiss it, then press the Print button.
