Hi javier,

Yes, in my case we were able to determine the cause. Look into the windows eventviewer in the application log. Search for a 1001/1004 event. It will mention a component that is not located on the position the registry is mentioning. In our case, we just copied a dll from the system32 folder to the mentioned folder and the problem was gone.

For more info google on: 1004 1001 windows installer keeps installing

Walter,

>Hi Walter, I have come accross the same problem. Did you find the solution? It is really annoying.

>>On only one laptop, I've got a problem that our application keeps on installing components while the application is running. It seems that each time the application loads an ActiveX control (Microsoft, Leadtools) or event the VFP8 runtime, Installshield pops up to install the component. saying "Please wait while Windows configures Myapp". At a certain point it keeps doing that and you'll have to hit cancel to proceed.

>>I'm sure it hase something to do with the configuration on the laptop, but I don't have a clue what to do. Foxhelp does not run at all. On other workstations (clean without anything installed before) it works like a charm.

>>Has anyone experience in solving this problem ?
