yes, exactly. Add the structural indexes, and change the code itself when you have the time. Since the structural indexes are automatically "conencted" and updated, you don't have to do anything else to make SQL commands use them. The only thing you must be careful with, is the names of the index tags. I don't know what will happen if an index tag has the same name name as an index file, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

I did a similar convertion many years ago myself, and I was also very reluctant. But the process was absolutely painless, and after that I never use IDX indexes anymore.
