I believe that neither approach is easier by default. What is easier depends on each particular situation. Using VFPOLEDB/VFP ODBC as a temporary solutions may have its own disadvantages as well. For example, whether we want it or not, each provider/driver has its own specific behaviors, supported syntax, supported capabilities, ... not to mention its own issues. And VFPOLEDB/VFP ODBC are no different here. Should someone spend extra time and learn how to work with VFPOLEDB/VFP ODBC when the final goal is Sql Server? Most likely the switch from VFPOLEDB/VFP ODBC to SQL OLEDB/SQL ODBC for a complex application will not be as simple as changing the connection string. In this case, I would say it may make sense to temporarily stay in the NATIVE space, it may require less efforts to get NATIVE temporary CursorAdapter's up and running.

Thanks,
Aleksey.
