Steve Smith and company sure smoked them that day. You're such a nice lady, why did you have to bring that up? <g>

You would not believe how much talk there is here this week. This is a Bears town in good times and bad and everyone is after Rex Grossman's head. Rex, Rex, Rex, that's all we can think about. We are Rex-obsessed. Can he do it or does he need to be yanked? Talk radio is going a mile a minute.

Here is my dispassionate take, FWIW. The Bears are legitimate Super Bowl winners. Their defense is the best in the league and will cover up many of the offensive flaws. It all comes back to Rex.

Laughing,

Mike

>Wait a minute - if your standard is that they beat the bears (as in a couple of your examples) then don't forget January 2006 against the Panthers! That was afterall the NFC DIVISIONAL PLAYOFF ...

>>>>>Maybe you're right in that AFC seems to have one or maybe two teams that are "dominant". But as their record indicates they can be had. The Ravens lost to the broncos and the panthers for god sakes. And they squeeked by the titans and the browns.
>>>>>I guess their most impressive win is against the saints and chargers.
>>>>
>>>>I wouldn't even say dominant, just better. I think the AFC has 3 teams better than any NFC team, Chargers, Ravens and Colts. Then there are a bunch of AFC teams (Patriots, Bengals, Broncos, Chiefs, Jets, Jaguars) that match the best of the NFC (Bears, Cowboys, Saints, Seahawks). The rest of the NFC is so mediocre that once again there's a mathematical chance of an 8-8 (or 7-9) team in the playoffs. Whereas in the AFC there are 5 7-5 teams fighting for 2 wildcard spots.
>>>>
>>>>I don't think there are any truly dominant teams this year. They all have flaws that have been exposed. It should make for some very interesting playoff matchups.
>>>
>>>
>>>Please confirm that this is your opinion: the Chargers, Ravens, Colts, Patriots, Bengals, Broncos, Chiefs, Jets, and Jaguars are all as good or better than the Bears. I just want to be sure this is your considered opinion and not just a desire to say something vivid.
>>
>>Chargers, Ravens & Colts are all better than the Bears.
>>
>>Let's look at the rest.
>>Patriots : Beat the Bears in New England 2 weeks ago.
>>Broncos : Beat the Patriots in New England in week 3.
>> : They have a lot of problems lately so they are probably worse. Jets : Beaten by the Bears in Jersey 3 weeks ago.
>> : Beat the Patriots in New England 4 weeks ago.
>> : Beat the Dolphins (week 6) who beat the Bears (week 9)
>>Jaguars : Beat Miami (last week) who beat the Bears (week 9)
>>
>>I'll make a correction; I'll take back KC and add Miami.
>>I still contend that the Bengals are as good if not better but I will not go beyond 1 degree of seperation, game-wise, to find it.
>>
>>In addition the Bears have benefitted from a cupcake schedule. 3 teams with winning records and only 1 in the NFC. That offense is pathetic and until they get some consistency on that side of the ball they will fall to better balanced teams. Of course on any given Sunday...
