Being brand new to VFP, I am trying to use the VFP base classes to add a drop-down combobox to a grid. First thing I did was add a combobox on my form, but outside the grid. That way I could tweak all the combo's properties and test that it did as I wanted. Great, I have a combo drop-down on my form that displays 2 columns: PartNo and PartDesc.

#1: Is there a way to drag the combo into a column on the grid? I have read how to add a new instance of a control to a grid - but in this case I'd like to drag the one I pre-configured into the grid...

#2: Not being sure how to accomplish #1, I did create a combo in column 1 from scratch - sure seems like such an unintuitive process :( I set all its properties just like the combo that I placed outside the grid. But when I run this form the grid combo behaves differently. Most problematic is that once the list drops down, if I type anything the list closes. I have incremental set T - so why does the list close? Style = 0 - Dropdown Combo. I had brought up this topic in a recent thread and was advised to upgrade from VFP 6 to 9 - which I have done (actually VFP 9 SP1).

Any insights greatly appreciated!
