Another answer: I can illustrate with an example:

You're playing Internet Reversi, and you've got the better of your talented opponent who's just beaten you 3 games, you're just placing your remaining pieces and are about to wipe him off the board ... when he suddenly quits the game- possibly just so he can say that he's never (officially) been beaten.

THAT's a what a twat is.
