I don't think many people thought they were THAT good. If they had kept up the pace of the first 6 or 7 weeks they would have shattered the NFL record for largest point differential in a season. As it is the only team even close to them in that department is the Chargers (+140 compared to +168 for the Bears).
That's another thing for the sudden rash of Bears doubters to ponder: ON AVERAGE they are winning games by two touchdowns. Some of their alleged recent misfires have been beating a decent Vikings team that needed a win, by 10; beating a decent Jets team that needed a win, on the road, by 10; and losing to a way more than decent Patriots team that needed a win, on the road, by 4. Not many teams would mind "struggling" like this.
