Well, was that all? Was that all debate here over the years? Are you seriously refering to one reply from Michel Fournier to one person? The whole thread you're refering to is two messages! I must thank you, because it makes clear that this issue has apparantly NOT been discussed here seriously in the past.

Michel's answer was: Unfortunately not, this would be a bad move from Universal Thread to make such related stats available. We consider that part to be within the privacy of each user and a twited user should not be aware of it.

This indicates that Michel too thought of it as an unfortunate situation.

But also there may have been a misunderstanding. The original question was:

Can we see if we have any twit filter's or posting notices set on our own accounts?

This is essentially the same as I'm asking for. I'm not proposing that we all see what filters all have in effect (case 1). I propose that someone can see what filters are in effect with regard to him/her (case 2). The privacy argument may be valid in case 1, but it is not valid enough here for case 2. Because it would/does violate another 'right'. People have the 'right' to explicitly being told that, and why, they are not welcome.

When I come to your house, ring the bell and wait for you to open the door, will you simply not come to the door or will you come there anyway and tell me that I'm not welcome? Unless I'm stalking you, the second reaction is the proper behavior. Why, do you think?

If there’s no willingness to moderate for the sake of good debate, then I have no willingness to debate at all.
Let's develop superb standards that will end the holy wars.
