I downloaded the VFPOLEDB Version 9 SP1 from MS and installed it follwoing their directions for renaming the existing vfpoledb.dll file. I then went into Windows Explorer and hovered over the file:

\Program Files\Common Files\System\Ole DB\Vfpoledb.dll

and it reported that it was version 9.0.0.3504 which is the same build number I have for VFP9 SP1 so I believe I have the latest driver. It also appears that the new file is the same as the one I renamed so I think it was already correct.

I did attempt to run the VFP sample Mere Mortals screen as you suggested and I still got the same error when I attempted to save a changed record.

I am going to look into what Linda Harmes mentioned in her response on my tables as well, but I would have expected the sample screen to work correctly.

Is this similar to an error 9 (Data Type Mismatch) in VFP where the dataset is not cast in the same way as the .DBF file and it does not make it into the table?
