Now a French Colony in the middle of Canada just like before 1713 would be interesting. Isn't it really a nation within a nation now? (Quebec is a nation within the nation of Canada)? I thought that passed in November and I really don't understand the overall effect just yet. In the past, American (ok, citizens of the U.S.) could drive into Canada with only a drivers license. (That may have changed after 9/11 - living in NC the opportunity to drive into Canada is not what it used to be). What would you need to drive into Quebec then? A passport? A Visa for greater than 90 days? Apply to France? :o) Would it work for the entire EU then? :o)

>>Can I ask an ignorant American question please? Is there really a heated debate going on between 'Canadians' and 'Quebecers' (ok not sure what a person from Quebec is called)? Isn't everyone born in Canada Canadian? Or is that the argument? Do those from Quebec want to be known as Quebecers instead of Canadian and actually separate from Canada? What about those in Quebec that want to remain a part of Canada? Are they still Canadian? This is beginning to sound like the War Between the North and the South...
