>They are members of the Celtic Tribes. If you wish to get the attention of a Scot, tell him this fact.

Now this is a definite deja vu, and Tom, you've written this before. What'll ruile him even more is calling hime a scotchman. Scotch refers to whisky or biscuits or pancakes.

>The Scots are one of the five Irish Tribes. The reason Scots have so many missing teeth is due to questions such as this.

We call a puch in the mouth a "Glasgow kiss"

>If you wish to further aggravate a Scot, just ask, “Donald, where are your trousers”!

I'm sure I've responded to this: "Donald, where's yer trewsers" from an old scottish popular song. I don't know where you get the Irish ref from.

>That is an old Irish joke by the way.

>By the way the Irish Tribes migrated from Galicia, Spain many years ago. In Galicia, the folk music incorporates the bag pipe even to this day. Scots on the other hand migrated from Ireland around 500 AD to what we today call Scotland.

>Now, what does the term "British" mean as opposed to "English"?

The name of the land mass is Britain, or Great Britain if you include Ireland and all the other isles. In Latin - Britannia. In French Grande Bretagne, whereas Brittany is just Bretagne. SO, if there weren't a UK (i.e. England and Scotland) then we would have an English of Scottish nationality. But we are british, as in "United Kingdomians".
