3.0 will not gain you anything in this case. There were NO changes in the 2.0 code and no bug fixes. It does not replace nor upgrade 2.0.
All 3.0 does is add some namespaces to 2.0. The new capabilities are Windows Communication Foundation (WCF), Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), Windows Workflow Foundation (WF), and Windows CardSpace.
ASP.Net and ASMX files continue to use the .Net 2.0 runtime. If you want to take advantage of 3.0, you'll need to rewrite some code for WCF web services and authentication.

>Well, the Web site configuration in Internet Information Manager doesn't know about it. What I mean is that in the Web site properties, in the ASP.NET panel, I only have 1.1 and 2.0. I need to have 3.0 in there as well. I believe I would have to add a web service extension. Could that be?
