It looks like old "Bison Bill" and his contempories did the world a favour then by reducing the herd from some 60 million to a few hundred. Otherwise we'd've had this problem many years ago. So that solves it. Kill off all the gnus (wilderbeeste) in Africa and we can continue to enjoy holdiay flights, use of the car, leave all the lights on, crank the heating or a/c up, etc.
