Thanks for your response. Based on your code, what would happen if the update on alias1 was successful and update on alias2 failed?

For instance in my case:

alias1 = inventory table
update is successful and the alocated and/or onorder fields are updated based on amount ordered on the new detail records.

alias2 = detail table
update fails and new detail records are not added.

It appears that inventory alocated would be increased by amount on detail records that are not present.

Would that be the end result?
