>Just about one of the weirdest things I can't get my head round about the USA is the concept of wedding rehearsal dinners. It keeps cropping up on TV shows and films ("Killer Instinct", "Friends" just 2 exs that spring to mind). Now let me get this straight: Not only do the bride and groom need to rehearse the wedding ceremony - natural and sensible and practised over here - but all the wedding guests get together a day or 2 before the event and rehearse the actual wedding meal, food, speeches and all? So everyone's already heard the best man's amusing anecdotes, the groom's praise of his new wife, the father's musings on his daughter's youth, etc.? And the expanse of it!

I guess they also have to rehearse for the wedding night encounter? Personally I rehearsed for that night many times, so on my wedding night, I knew exactly what to do. :-)

BTW, what you you think of the americans' "baby shower"? This must be invented by some smart marketing guy.

What's next, "bathroom shower"? And I don't mean a water shower, I need a party to celebrate your bathroom visit. Hey, this will mean a continuous part, I can't wait! I guess the name will be "restroom shower" over there.

And talking about bathroom/restroom, who uses this room to take a bath many times a day, or to take a rest? Personally I use it to get relief to dispose of some leftover from my natural body processes while most women obviously use it to powder their nose. Why this "walking around the bush"? In Norway we call this little room either toilet or WC.
