>The Band1 is the P.O. Header and Band2 is P.O. Items. So the report shows one line for the P.O. header info (Vendor, Dates, Total Amount) and then a bunch of items. Then at the bottom it is supposed to summarize the P.O. Amount column. Am I more clear now?


What you are explaining above is not what multiple detail bands are supposed to be used for. If all you have is a parent (PO Header) and some children (PO Items) you don't need two detail bands. You should create a data group on the PO Number and but the PO Header information in the Data Group Header band. The PO Items information should go in the detail band. Do not fill in the Target Alias on the detail band. Instead, set a relation between the PO Header and the PO Line Items and just let the PO Line Items drive the report. That's it .. no multiple detail bands required.
