Would you have the same problem with 7/1/2?
Maybe I should do a poll to learn how many countries of this big world of ours use mm/dd/yy as their date format. It can only lead to confusion, at least amongst all the imports you have there.
Imagine a foreign-born recent immigrant working in a bank (calculating interest and such) or a hospital and misunderstanding a date. Could cost money, or even lives.
I bet the U.S. would run smoother overall if you used yy/mm/dd everywhere. And look at all the computer jobs the conversion would create... better than Y2K < s >
