Yes, this discussion went broader into use of child forms -- the original question was solved by use of Pageframe container (which is the best design; a child form would be a poor design).

That depends on whether you want to use the VFP screen as the top-level or not. I have applications where VFP screen is the top level -- all forms opened relative to it are children of VFP screen. I have some applications that I want to be independent of the VFP screen (these are then Top Level) and forms opened relative to them I want to behave as children of the top level (these are then In Top Level). I may still have the VFP screen open and I want them all to function independently (top levels) and have their own respective children. This is accomplished with ShowWindow setting.
