I'm not sure it will make a difference.

I'm unclear on why you're getting an Excel error (unless their version of Excel is older than yours), especially since the error doesn't include the actual file name, but just the path, and the code you provided seems to have nothing to do with having Excel open a file, but in regard to the bit of code you did provide, there might, and I repeat might be an issue with the fact that you're feeding a string to the 'USE' command rather than a name. It might not make a difference in your instance, but I always just feel a bit safer feeding a name expression to commands that expect a name expression. Ultimately, I think there will be less problems.
