Don't know of any tooltip tools for the dropping portion of the combo, but you may just show one extra column with whatever text you want. OTOH, the intellisense combos have tooltips... it's just that I couldn't find out how they did it. I tried setting .itemtips in a combo, that should work with a combo with two columns where only one is shown (probably .columnwidths=tran(.width)+",0"), and you'd also need form.showtips=.t., but I didn't run a complete test, so can't say. Daughter waiting to run a movie on this machine, so... out of time :).
