I grew up in small towns where the radio stations were by and large country music ones. Having filtered access to rock/pop music meant that I grew to resent country. But there few country songs I like.
For instance the Dixie Chicks "Not Ready to Make Nice". I like the song partly because of it is about their confrontation with the country music industry and partly because it is rock cross-over song. Maybe also because I'm getting older.
