J. Luis,
Well, I am developing my third VFP application now. I did build
a reasonable framework, although I still get lost sometimes, as
to who does what with who's properties. I think VFP
is the best tool for what I need to do. I'll even go as far
as to say that yes, OO is more that just a syntaxic enhancement.
How's that for a commitment to Foxpro?
I'm not bugging you guys for the pleasure of doing so, although I cannot must confess that I find it amusing sometimes, but that is the
name of the game no?
About changes to make the language more consistent, I agree of
course that it could be done, and that it should be done, it's
just that I kind of not trust the guys in charge at M$, for
reasons that are irrelevant here: skill, resources, management
backing, project management, vision, enthusiasm ... (strike out what you do no like). Look at Delphi, and you will see my point.
Imagin that they come up with more brilliant ideas like dynamic
properties, unsubclassable columns, undebuggable .VCX's.
Peace and regards,
Marc in a 'oh no! do not let them touch the core language' mood.
If things have the tendency to go your way, do not worry. It won't last. Jules Renard.
