You are mixing a lot here. There's apples and then there are oranges.

* WWII was in many ways justified from the allied side in stopping a despicable bully form invading, conquering and subjugating neighbors.
* Vietnam was not so clear cut. The US got involved to save the French's hide and fight a differing political view (communism). Was a war and so much death and destruction justified? Not so sure.
* S. Korea was invaded and got UN help. Was in a way justified and unfortunately never officially ended (no real armistice or agreement to this day).
* American Civil War. A war about slavery. Justified although should not have happenned.
* War of 1812: justified in a way. You cannot as a sovereign nation allow another nation to abduct and impress your people as sailors.
