'Seek' gives huge advantage for native data access, and shouldn't be discarded, and I'm pretty sure everyone already moved to SQL-Server in some way.
That's another story that 'Set Filter' had to be discarded 10 years ago when VFP3b appeared. I said 'arguably' but should have qualified - SEEK is great for working with data that's already been retrieved from a back-end. Any time I read data from a back-end, I use a SELECT.
I haven't used SET FILTER in a long, long time....but there's plenty of legacy code out there that uses it.
