Well not unless there is a government program of some kind that aims at that sort of thing. And I guess chances are good that there are, corporations having undoubtedly arranged for such for themselves.

I interpret "entitlements" as being those government programs available to everyone by virtue of age or income levels or medical impairment, etc. My bet is that corporations take a huge chunk of your $$$ under various disgiuses including entitlements.

I just think the gov't should stop impeding us with their oppressive tax structure, regulations, etc. I would even settle for a dollar-for-dollar tax CREDIT for the kind of work I would like to put into this land. But then we would be the ones deciding how best to spend our money instead of letting the omniscient, omnipresent gov't squander it for us.

First, from your writings over many years here I have never thought of you as some right-wing radical extremist. If I did have that view I wouldn't have bothered replying with what I did < s >

My bet is that taxes could go way down if corporations stopped sucking every bit they can and then some. I honestly can't wait to see how the corporations with the contracts justify their "cost" and price for Iraqi oil. If that doesn't end up making things crystal clear to the people then I fear all hope is lost.

It sounds like you've got yourselves one lovely piece of land there, and your kids will get one amazing education out of it too. I truly suspect that there is some kind of government program(s) out there to help you keep things as they are or improve them. And you needn't feel shy about taking advantage - corporations consider these things as their "rights" and undoubtedly exploit them with minimal or no actual compliance to conditions. After all, you can't put a corporation in jail if they lie on their forms, can you?
