Rock,
It is my understanding the the greater the level of subclassing,
there will be slight degredation in performance. Most of my classes
are at least 2 levels, and most are 3-4 levels. I don't notice
a significant performance hit (and that's on a 486/66!!).
Unless you want to go "class-crazy" and have very deep subclassing
levels, I personally wouldn't worry about the performance.
Having said that, I'm probably opening a can of worms though!!!
Good Luck,
John
