Oh, sorry, Jeff. I didn't read your original post closely enough.

I believe the following (my code) example of DisplayAlerts is what you're looking for.

loo.oObject.Object.Application.DisplayAlerts = 0

Though, I don't know that this is available in Excel 5, I would guess that it probably is.

>Thanks but I already have that. I don't think I explained enough of the problem. The workbook has macros and is password protected. Thats why I just did'nt build from scratch each time. I can open it with no problem, can make the changes but when I try to saveas with 39 (ver5) it comes up with a file exsits over write box. So I did the chezzy thang and just del old and then copy to as the name I need.
