You may try to add the CLASS clause in the Append General statement. Haven't done that for a number of years, but IIRC, it may have to do with whether the app in charge of JPG printing is a good automation (or was it DDE?) server. I've seen the images in a general field refusing to print on a machine where MS Paint was initially installed, then some other app was installed and took over the jpg extension, then that other app got uninstalled and no app was in charge of the extension anymore.

Since general fields are actually wrappers around files embedded in them and intended for use by an outside app, which must be a COM server, if such a server is not properly installed/registered and in charge of the extension, you may need to specify the server via the Class clause. Don't ask me what would the class name be, I have no idea anymore :).
