Ok, I'll chime in here late.

Learning .NET from a VFP mindset is a lot of work. Sorry but it is all new.

I am working on a team who is focused on this framework and overall it is ROBUST!

You can by your flavor of vb/c# and go.

You can see the framework explained on 2 DNR shows. That is DotNetRocks

http://www.lhotka.net/weblog/DNRTVOnCSLANET20.aspx for the shows.

Rocky has his act together! For doing a tiny little app like yours this could be easy as 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8

Rocky looks at BizObjects as the endall for everything. I'd watch the shows to see how it all works and why it takes so much code to pull it off.

You will then learn how to create code generator templates to do all the mundane repeat stuff and find that from a few XML files your app is generated top to bottom. That is all GUI's all BizLayers, Data Access, Error messages, and anything else you need.

Let's get real now. this will take a lot of time, but after you do a few of these you can convert your apps over pretty quickly, or at least that is what I am seeing in vb6 to ASP.NET conversions here today.
