>>I have seen, and like, most of Hitchcock, Kazan and Truffaut. Have to become familiar with the others.

>I think you would like Kieslowski as well if you are not a fan already. His movies have a mixture of compassion, insight, and resistance to cynicism that I like. He is cynical himself at times, which I take as strict adherance to telling the truth about the world around him. What I especially admire is that he did most if not all of his work in Poland under Soviet rule. The logistics must have been hellish. And out of nothing he made art. Salud. Don't worry, it isn't "eat your peas." You keep watching and keep watching and keep watching. His realm is the human condition, nothing more, nothing less. You care about the characters. Once you have that everything else is details.

>PS -- I have a couple of nice Hitchcock DVD collections (not to mention Kieslowski) and will be happy to send them to you if you like. I trust you to send them back. The Mikey Lending Library -- just crazy enough to be a good idea.
I'll take a look.
Re: DVD loan. Thanks but no. I don't lend books or movies. I give books away by the ton, as I do read a lot. Some are keepers and stay. People generally have a bad track record so I don't lend. Conversely I don't borrow either. Thanks for the offer.
I'll use Netflix and rent the ones I find from him.
