If the wireless network adapter in your computer is still installed and active, for test purposes try disabling it in Device Manager.

Also, these days if you ever get anything weird going on with network connections it's a good idea to run a full AV scan and also scan your system with at least 2 different antispyware apps such as Ad-Aware and Spybot Search & Destroy.
