IMO the thought that the Pope will rule an American President died over 40 years ago. JFK went through that, which he shouldn't have to have done, and was elected anyway. Historians consider it a turning point in the election when he confronted it head on. He was an American, just like you, just like me, just like all of us who live here. Almost all of us came here from somewhere else.

Everyone remembers the famous JFK quotes like "Ask not what your country can do for you" and "Ich bin ein Berliner" and "The torch is passed to a new generation" and "I want to put a man on the moon in the next 10 years." My favorite was something he said just a few weeks before his death with far less fanfare. "We all share this small planet. We all breathe the same air, we all cherish our childrens' futures, and we are all mortal." Check this out. Something was lost in our national spirit that day in Dallas.

>The connection with JFK is apparent and Giuliani will have his detractors. Being a Catholic (as was JFK) the Pope will rule our country. When you research Giuliani ‘s background he sounds more like a democrat than a republican! The Evangelicals will not accept such a person.

>>Figures. Seems like having Giuliani for president is a risky idea - remember the last president we had that was all gung-ho on getting rid of the mafia? (Kennedy) Wasn't Giuliani a prosecutor before he was a mayor and took on the NYC crime families?
