You may be 'free' from marriage, but the state of being single is only one type of freedom. The simple fact that you choose to be married and are able to do so and you choose to assume responsibility for your family and you are able to do so, means you have that freedom. Now, whether not it makes you happy, is a different issue entirely. If some people are happy owning slaves, should they have the freedom and liberty be allowed to do so?

>>'Happiness' was invented and put in the same row as 'freedom' specifically for people who either don't know what freedom is, or not capable, due to developmental problems, to use it. Basically, happiness is more animal feature and because humans descended from animals, it's more universally recognised and appreciated. Freedom has cost, happiness could be free.

>What does freedom mean while I'm unhappy with my life ?? Why pursuit freedom while I could be perfectly happy beeing bound to all the obligations I have ??
>
>Example. I'm not experiencing freedom, because I have choosen to be a responsible husband and father for my children. In everything I want I will negotiate with my wife as she will do the same with me.

>Freedom is that I'm single and go out every night and pick up some nice girl when ever I like. Go anywhere without asking for approval from anyone.
>
>I'm striving for happyness, not freedom, as "freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose". what is freedom worth while living in misery? If I need more freedom for my happyness, I'll fight to get more freedom. Else it aint worth it. Freedom is just a vehicle to achieve happyness.

>Again, I know americans are raised with the ideal of "freedom" and is deep engraved into your society and culture and certainly history (freedom as oposed to slavery), but as an outsider, it just does not make sense to me.
