I was shown that VB "feature" by a M$ trainer at one of them free M$ events. Of course they always use VB at these events but I could tell from the start that the trainer was more used to C#. Anywho when the trainer showed the qualified VB semi-colon about half of the room started laughing loud (me included), I can only assume that only C#ers laughed.
At this event there was also another funny VB/C# issue. The trainer was writing some code live and it didn't work (compile error I think). After putsing with it for about 5 minutes (I am sure it felt like 30 minutes to him) he asked if anyone knew what was wrong. I said : "You are using the wrong language, switch to C#". After the laughter died down the trainer acctually tried to do the same thing in C# and it worked right away. During the break we figured out why it didn't work in VB.
Semper ubi sub ubi.
