>Maybe he was in a gang in his youth. (And maybe not; this is just some guy posting on the internet about something he thought he may have seen). What's your point? I seriously doubt his last profession was anything other than defensive back for the Denver Broncos.

As I said in another post, the point is if he was in a gang and was killed as the result of that, it should be reported. It would be a service to the community to report that a gangster's lifestyle often ends in an untimely death. I agree, he may have been a gangster in his youth, but he was still going to places frequented by gangsters and where they have had a lot of problems with gangs in the past.

Out of all of this, I would like to see the black community stand up and say enough is enough. The gangstah rap and all the trappings that go along with it are destructive to our society. Bill Cosby is saying the right things and it appears people are starting to listen.

I can tell you from working the streets and having a 15 year old kid pull a .9mm on my sergeant and me, it's not getting better. Someone's gotta stand up and say the hard things that focus attention on the problem. As for Darrent, he was a very good football player, who died senselessly. Had he stayed away from gangsters, he might still be a very good football player with a huge upside, both in and out of football.
