I have seen this error before and it has always been the query in the .SelectCmd. So I clipped the query from the adapter objects SelectCmd property and ran it suspended from the fox command window right before the CursorFill() call and the query executed just fine. I step over the CursorFill and get an error. This query is not set for updatable in the adapter properties. Just a data retrieval query.

Take a look in all other properties of CA: CursorSchema, UpdateNameList, UpadatableFieldList, KeyFieldList, Tables etc.
