From a VFP background, and having absolute 0% knowledge of Visual Basic or C#, can anyone make a suggestion on which one I should pick? I understand that will make a change to the visual way the software works once I make that selection.

Pick C#! Pick C#! lol

John's answer is a good answer to a question that neither has a "right" or a "wrong" answer.

I picked C# because (at the time):
-C# devlopers make more $$$ than VB developers (I don't know if this is still true)
-More examples are available for C# (I don't know if this is still true)
-Kevin's ".NET for VFP devlopers" says more VFP'ers choose C# (maybe I read between the lines)
-VFP'ers historically never liked VB
-Real programmers code in C(#) <s>
(hmm I used to have more reasons but I can't think of them cuz it is dinner time)

Do a little searching here on UT and I am sure you will find a lot of threads like this one. Also make sure you download (or buy) Kevin's ".NET for VFP devlopers".

And just remember that if you pick VB now you can always change to C# when you realize that you picked the wrong language <bg>
Semper ubi sub ubi.
