The default provider in Windows 2000 is different than the default provider in
Windows XP. Your data may encrypt/decrypt differently depending on the provider, so make sure you specify which provider you want to use. I'm using the Windows 2000 provider which is supported by Windows XP as well: "Microsoft Base Cryptographic Provider v1.0"
