No real dispute from me - I'ld formulate a bit differently and say WW2 was planned and perhaps "needed" by the regime back then, and the defense posture was just a selling trick. In my book the probably staged border events did not "lead to war" in the sense of "cause the war" - it would have happened on other "reasons" just as easily manipulated.

Propaganda is just one more way to fight. Discussing war/tactics in war from a moral standpoint is always close rationalization and possibly even self-delusion. And I haven't touched the "whose morals"-question.
