To me

lcMyStr = STR(MyNumericValue)
or
lnLength = LEN(MyStrValue)

seems natural. You got your function calls with parameter.

But this...

MyNumericValue.ToString()
or
MyStrValue.Length()

is just too freaky. Kinda reminds me of VB6 "Me.Something".
It just isn't right. :)
