>Is there a rule of thumb for the optimal 3050 setting or is this done via experimentation?

Hi Rassell,

I can't recommend any rule. The optimal value depends on the amount of memory and CPU speed. It also depends on the application and on amount of memory consumed by other applications. You probably don't want significant part of VFP cache to go into OS paging file. It makes sense to run the app with different settings and see which one works the best. I believe, it is not a good idea to set SYS(3050) to a value greater than 1Gb, but, if testing shows that it works for you, then it works.

Thanks,
Aleksey.
