Sorry, I don't quite understand.
If you're asking if you should use DE, then it's up to you. It is not related to multiuser mode.
The only critical problem with multiuser situation may happen when two users directly enter data in the same record. It may happen only when you allow them to type in grid that has table as recordsource. So you either disallow this mode, or if users really want it, you use buffering. Both ways you open your data in shared mode (SET EXCLUSIVE OFF).
