Hi Claudio:
I got your point. But there are alternatives to the MS implementation like mono and dotnet.org, remember the foundation of .NET, the CLI and CLR is a standard.
Also, something that really looks nice is to have all the Java functionality accesible through ikvm.net, actually you have a lot available and in a months you'll have all the Java power available via IKVM.net, and it will be fully opensource.
And anyway you are already in MS play yard, if like me, you use a lot VFP.

.NET has some nice features.. But, its main purpose scares me.. Only one supplier.. Only One.. This is what I call "the dead-end road"..

Microsoft Plans.. Microsoft Plans.. Microsoft Plans.. This is "the wrong way" !!
Hey bro, "right way" pass through a road that give us all, a market full of oportunity.. Oracle, PHP, Mysql, VFP <g>, etc, etc, etc.. After all, what is the purpose?
Jobs, competition, style-of-life, oportunities, open market.. If some of this words make some sense for you.. You got my point..
If you are younger than 25y.. I'll tell a secret: "Microsoft is not a country!!" <g>
