When I check jobs on monster etc.. I find java jobs almost always out number .Net jobs by large factors (once 10 to 1). Also when you check which languages are being used Java is always ahead of VB and C#.

I did notice that Python is going up the list and VFP is in the top twenty.

So I keep asking why do most assume that .Net is the way to go. Java, Pascal, Python run on all platforms. Why limit yourself. The only thing I see that windows has is the IDE.

But checkout:
Python framework and ide
http://leafe.com/screencasts/dataenvironment1.html
this is a swf showing how easy it is to use.

Jave netbeans 5.5 ide
http://www.netbeans.org/
Take a peek the videos again easy to use.

Pascal (Lazarus) just like Delphi ide

this is delphi but multi-platform
