One is mere exercise, the other is hypocrisy.

Just because some people light candles as part of their religion, that doesn't mean that if I light a candle at home, I'm engaging in a religious rite. I'm just lighting a candle.

By the same token, if I used yoga stretching techniques, I'd just be exercising to keep my muscles toned.
