I thought very hard about replying and making this thread bigger. But since the first search page is already 100% occupied by posts in this thread, it makes little difference now.
All I'm saying is that I would feel happier if a search on "his" name in a popular VFP stomping ground were to go to a thread that celebrates his achievements, not an official interpretation that even if true has no bearing on his status in this community. You seem to have taken offence at some of the thread content- but that's just chatter in a chatter forum. IMHO the issue is an official opinion that does not need or deserve prominence. My only issue is the posts from Terry Thurber.
Maybe you or somebody like you should start a thread "the best thing I remember about Drew Speedie" or "The first time Drew Speedie helped me was..." so this thread gets demoted. That actually occured to me earlier today - as I said, I prefer to just remember Drew for his accomplishments and contributions. Yes, I think that's a good idea, thanks, I'll give that some thought.
